Dr Karin Braune BVSc

Dr Karin qualified as a veterinarian from Onderstepoort in 1996, graduating as the top student in her class. She has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 30 years. Born in Namibia and raised in Pretoria, Dr Karin spent the first 26 years of her career working in private practice, eventually becoming a practice owner. In 2022, she and her family relocated to beautiful Fish Hoek and she now heads up the small animal clinic at VetX Noordhoek, a role she has held since the clinic opened in 2024. Her passion lies in small animal medicine and providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient she sees. When she's not at the clinic, Dr Karin enjoys spending time outdoors — whether in the bush, on the beach, kayaking, hiking, or travelling. She is married, has two adult children, and shares her home with two much-loved dogs.

Dr Helen Aldrich (BVSc)

Dr Helen is the newest veterinarian to join the VetX Noordhoek team. A 2022 graduate of the University of Pretoria, she has a passion for gentle, personalised care and enjoys building strong relationships with both her patients and their owners. She has a special interest in internal medicine and is currently completing her Master's degree in canine oncology. After completing her community service year in Hoedspruit, she made the move to Cape Town and quickly became a proud Deep South local. When she's not at the clinic, you'll find Dr Helen hiking, running, gardening, or spending time with her two beloved cats, Winter and Squishmallow.

Amanda Vlok — Veterinary Nurse

Amanda qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2009 after studying at Onderstepoort. Caring for animals has always been her passion, and she is grateful to have the opportunity every day to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families. Over the past 17 years, Amanda has worked in a variety of veterinary settings, including specialist surgical, internal medicine, and after-hours emergency hospitals in Cape Town. These experiences have given her valuable knowledge and a strong foundation in small animal medicine and patient care. When she's not at VetX, Amanda enjoys spending time outdoors hiking with her dogs, Josef and Heidi. At home, she loves relaxing with her two cats, Apricot and Grootkop, who are always happy to claim a spot on her lap for a cuddle.
